Storytelling Workshops
erwstories is on a mission to nurture, empower and platform the unseen, community by community, showing stories matter.
Through little resource, radical faith and a rebellious charge, erwstories has used storytelling as a powerful tool to shed light on underexplored issues within underrepresented communities; reclaim singular narratives with nuance and imagination and connect unlikely communities together.
With 5 years of professionally creating stories for the unseen, erwstories offers a range of enriching creative workshops, prioritising communities who face barriers in accessing artistic opportunities.
We are open to co-creating and delivering bespoke storytelling workshops for young people and adults; using the mediums of drama, creative writing and film.
Our Story, Our Superpower: Creative Writing
A soft and enriching launch to storytelling that will explore the art of using personal stories as stimuli, with safety, care, and bravery. This workshop will empower participants to:
Discover and develop their voice and authentic style of storytelling.
Share experiences that are meaningful to them as a healthy emotional outlet.
To have empowering discussions on why our stories matter.
Resourceful Filmmaking: An idea, a phone and friends
A practical introduction to the basics of creating a film with everyday resources accessible to you. One of the greatest misconceptions of filmmaking is that you need expensive equipment, a cast, a crew and a big budget to create something meaningful and high-quality. This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of filmmaking, only using an idea, a phone and friends to create a story that will have equal emotional impact as a Hollywood Blockbuster!
Introduction to Playwriting: A play in a day
A playful introduction to writing for stage using a collaborative approach to create a play in a day. We will use a combination of drama and creative writing exercises to deconstruct a classic play to its basics and reconstruct a reimagined version of the play that culminates all of the participants ideas, discussions and findings from the creative exercises.
Topic-based Workshops
Immersing students into the world and life of a community, culture, or context to either introduce or delve further into a subject matter that will complement their study and enrich their learning through- a variety of storytelling exercises. Suitable for: English, History, Geography, Religious Education, PSHE.
